VITAMIN D & CALCIUM for BONE HEALTH CONTROVERSY
| December 11, 2013In a recent Washington Post Science article, the average person might come away thinking that Vitamin D and calcium were irrelevant to bone health.
Calcium is critical to bone health. This study is flawed and a perfect example of how testing single nutrients can misguide you to misunderstand nutrition.
Here is the truth.
Calcium absorption is dependent on:
1. the quality of the calcium ingested. Most calciums are VERY POORLY absorbed
2. excess animal protein blocks calcium absorption
3. Vitamin C and D, Magnesium, and Hydrochloric Acid must be present for calcium to be optimally uses
4. Calcium Hydroxyapatite is the most efficiently utilized form of calcium
The study from the link below does not take into account the essential variables that must be present for calcium and Vitamin D to play the critical role in strengthening bones for men and women.
This is especially true for children, menopausal women, and anyone who has either broken a bone or need to make choices how to prevent osteoporosis.
I designed a Love Your Body supplement called HEALTHY BONES with the understanding that your body deserves only the best form of calcium to optimally support your physical needs.
There is adequate research on calcium hydroxyapatite that would totally refute this poorly designed study in the Washington Post article.
